Lee Ann did this all on her own today. I turned my head for a second and she took it upon herself to feed Henry. I was SO proud. Then she threw a book at him in the car. Small victories. Sigh.

Sweet siblings...for the moment
There was an impromptu moment at the grocery store today where Lee Ann decided she should hug Henry. He was thrilled! Of course, she threw her crayons at him when we got home.

Sick lady
Well, it was bound to happen...our first trip to the urgent care clinic last night. Fortunately, we are on the mend...but we spent some 3 hours yesterday evening meeting all the nice nurses and watching a lot of Disney channel and Olivia the pig. When we came home for a later dinner, Lee Ann proceeded to "take care" of Cat and feed him. She kept saying "good boy".

Henry loves lee Ann
Henry cannot get enough of Lee Ann. He just adores her. She tolerates him...most of the time...but can easily become annoyed.

Butternut Squash Muffins
Today I made these butternut squash muffins...to me they taste just like pumpkin. I'm on a constant quest to get Lee Ann to eat more veggies. She gobbled these up so I'll consider them a hit. The muffins are a take on Jessica Seinfeld's "Do it Delicious" style. She recommends making a bunch of veggie purée and adding it to a variety of recipes. So far I am a huge fan!
Grown up
I feel like something happened to Lee Ann this week. She looks so grown up. Now her attitude is another thing...but when she's sitting still (rarely) and quiet (almost never)...she looks very mature.

Park time!
For the first time in a LONG time it was in the 70s yesterday. The whole family took to the park Sunday morning and a good time was had by all!

The new book battle
Lee Ann scored a new book today. I explained to her in what I felt was a calm authoritative tone that she would have to share the book with her brother. Henry's very interested when we read books, but Lee Ann often insists the book remain directly in front of HER.
Today she decided instead of sharing she would just lay down on the book. Awesome. She's two and she's mastering the art of passive aggressiveness. Naturally, I'm very proud. Ugh.

Yum!
In an effort to fill the void of the book My Life In France, I picked up this new book- Voraciois by Cara Nicoletti. It's a take on recipes from famous books...from Little House on the Prairie to Emma. It's lots of fun to read and it's not short on butter or sugar!

First day of Mother's Day out
Lee Ann's first day of MDO was today. She seemed excited and ran into the room without a look back at me. We shall see how she is at pick up time.

Whole wheat cheddar crackers
Testing more recipes for Lee Ann's lunches. These are Weelicious Cheddar crackers - an alternative to the Pepperidge Farm Goldfish. They are quite tasty and Lee Ann seems to enjoy them.
Meet the teacher
Lee Ann met her teacher for Mother's Day Out this week. She loved the room and all the new toys. She had a complete meltdown when we left. Who knows how things will go on Tuesday when she goes for her first full day.

The girl in the spider's web
I just finished My Life in France last night and I was very sad everything had to come to an end. I truly enjoyed it. However, the UPS man came today delivering this book and I'm very excited.
